Wash in Osh – Osh, Kyrgyzstan

Osh
Three more days camping after leaving the yurts to get to Osh for my first wash in 10 days.

The first day we stayed beside a river and met the local farmer and his son. We made them lunch, but they didn’t seem too impressed by Marmite. After we admired his horse he said “He’s four years old – I’ll keep him another 10 years then it’s off to the sausage maker.”

The next day we camped in a ravine which was great, but the final day we followed a reservoir for hours, alongside the cobalt blue lake

Osh was a bit dull so I spent most of the time there trying to wash the smell of horse out of my clothes. Unsuccessfully.

Only highlight was a trip by 3 of us to the ‘Rich Mans’ restaurant, which was closed, but instead we found a little courtyard where the speciality was slow cooked beef – a welcome relief from the constant supply of grilled mutton fat.
