Two days driving got us to Namibia and the long promised “funky camp” at Ngepi. It had a lot of quirky features such as outside toilets and a swimming cage in the Okavango river without getting attacked by the ever present hippos.
Later in the evening we went for a walk into the local tribal village to meet the locals. They seemed pleased to see us but personally I felt quite awkward wandering about with a camera that cost more than their village..
Back at the camp the bar had put on a some appalling singing entertainment and an offer – drink 18 shots and get one free – too good to miss and the only way to numb the brain against the awful wailing from the stage.
