Xpu-Ha is also known as the “Riviera Maya” – a Caribbean coast of turquoise waters and sandy beaches, lined with discreet and luxurious hotels.
Setting up camp in the grounds of one of the hotels we spent the evening relaxing on one of the multitude of wooden jetties reaching out into the sea.
The next morning we headed to the dive shop to get kitted up for a trip to one of the underground Cenotes, a flooded cave system. Being somewhat claustrophobic I was a bit wary of this but the excellent staff seemed relaxed and I got a chance to show off my underwater camera.
