We crossed into Botswana after a journey uneventful apart from racing a French group from the campsite all day, but this evening was our first wilderness camp just outside Kanye (also known as just pitching up by the side of the road). Expectant Vultures gathered as we set up camp.

The following night we stayed in a San Bushmen camp near Ghanzi. They took us for a walk to show how they find edible plants – we found some large truffles. During dinner the camp site was invaded by an ostrich, which was all fun and games until it tried to eat the cheese and had to be shooed away with a chair.

Later the bushmen performed a traditional dance, showing how they appreciate and hunt animals.
