Mad dogs and Englishmen – Xi’an, China

Xian City Walls

After a couple of days of heat induced inactivity, we went over to the city walls and rented some bicycles. At the very hottest time of the day we cycled the entire circumference of Xi’an city walls – about 14km.

By the time we finished we were a sweaty mess, so went to cool off in the gardens surrounding the Small and Large Goose Pagodas.

In the evening we wandered round the Islamic Quarter, watching men walk their birds in cages, before finding a beer and kite festival in the evening.
