Chobe National Park – Chobe, Botswana

Chobe Sunset

Another day another, game park. On the way there we passed the Tour d’Afrique coming the other way, looking surprisingly chipper considering they were cycling 12,000km from Cairo to Cape Town.

Saw lots of Eland – looks like an impala, but without the stripes on the rear.

The Chobe National Park campsite had a resident warthog, but on the following game drive we saw a pack of them, along with a dung beetle (I got far too excited at this for some reason), elephants, kudu, crocodile, puku, hippos and finally some lions. The elephants were at the water holding on to each other tails and waiting for an enormous bull elephant to make it’s way over from the reeds in the middle of the river. Watching the lions was wonderful, but I wasn’t sure what we would do if they attacked our open sided vehicle.
