Half Dome at Yosemite

Despite the previous days errors I went back to the Mexican Diner for a more restrained breakfast of Huevos Rancheros, or Eggs with Pork Chilli and Salsa. A good kick-start in the morning.

Possibly due to all the beans, a prevailing wind helped me climb a small mountain called Sentinel Dome. Bizarrely my camera memory decided to corrupt at this point so all the really quite arty photos of the Jeffrey Pine framing El Capitan have been lost.

From here we hiked over to Glacier Point, which despite me never having heard of it was quite a highlight, as can be seen from the pictures.

We then drove over to Sonora for another Mexican meal. I ordered burrito called the Big n’ Ugly, at which the waitress balked and asked if I knew how big it was. Whereas most restaurants give you a burrito or two alongside a few beans and salad these guys wrapped the whole meal up into a 3lb monstrosity. Considerately they added a few shredded lettuce leaves on the side to make it healthy.

Stuffed, we staggered to a local bar where I couldn’t face a beer so sampled the local bourbons, the winner as always being Maker’s Mark

Things best not put in a public blog: Seat Sniffers and Room Arrangements, but the fortune cookie was right.
