Banned Social Networks, by Country – Beijing, China

Here in China Facebook and Twitter are among the banned social networks and even LinkedIn on occasion. Google redirects to the Hong Kong homepage and Google Apps is sometimes blocked. Even some seemingly innocuous apps like Dropbox are blocked occasionally. Unsurprisingly, torrenting copyrighted movies works wonderfully (or so I’m told)…

This interesting tool detail banned social networking sites in each country, and provides links to explanatory news articles. Click on a country, then select the web service below to see reasons (spurious or otherwise).
