Heathrow Terminal 3, London
Well I’ve made it as far as Heathrow…journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step and all that.
What’s the first thing I do at the airport?* Log in to a computer and update my blog.
* After a bit of shopping, breakfast from the deli bar, fruit juices, pot of tea for elevenses and a haircut of course.
I would like to write more, but it’s midday and that means a massage, followed by a cocktail. This backpacking lark is easier than I’d imagined.

Shanghai airport was a bit haphazard but eventually got onto the China Eastern flight. For an extra £6 I was in business class on the hard blue plastic seats. Economy got comfy looking cloth seats. Not sure what happened there.
Once in Hong Kong I took a couple of hours sleep then went up Victoria Peak on the very steep tram line – it climbs at an incline of up to 27 degrees whilst you’re travelling past peoples back gardens. View from the top was great.
Back in town I went to see Times Square and got dehydrated and extremely lost less than two blocks from the hotel. Not a very impressive start.
