Terracotta Army – Xi’an, China

Terracotta Army

Reached Xian yesterday after a long day on the bus, and some more bee attacks.

Met the Dragoman group this morning and they seem like a nice bunch. Ten in all, three of them are going from here to at least Ashgabat, 5 on to Istanbul with me and 2 are continuing to Khartoum and the UK, so I’ll be with them for the next 2.5-3 months. More later.

Visited the Terracotta Army today, which was a bit underwhelming really. There are 3 pits containing 7,000 warriors, horses and archers, but only two of them are excavated so you actually see about a thousand, which is still impressive, but nothing like the promotional photos of a vast sea of warriors.
