Etosha National Park – Etosha, Namibia

Two days in the Etosha National Park with more game viewing – saw the usual, plus Gemsbok, Springbok, Jackal and Wildebeest. Also saw a lion chasing a giraffe. Not sure I wanted to see it getting ripped to shreds, but it managed to get away. Highlight was getting a glimpse of a rare Black Rhino. [...]

Victoria Falls – Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

Went from Botswana into Zimbabwe to get the best view of Victoria Falls. As we cleared the border crossing we saw some extremely rare African Wild Dogs, but the real joy was seeing how excited Kevin and Francis got at the sighting. Also saw a Sable antelope, but were more worried by the angry elephant [...]

Given the time of year we were very lucky with the 2 hour drive into the improbably named Xaxanaka – we saw giraffe, impala, zebra, elephants, warthogs and baboons. Arriving at the [...]

Monkeys and Crocodiles – Banjul, Gambia

Quick trip to Gambia. Lovely place, very cheap and friendly people. English is the default language and it’s a direct 6hr flight south so no time difference.
