The next day was left free to explore the interesting hikes and well stocked souvenir shops. Some got up to see the sunrise, some climbed the mountains and some did laundry. I stayed in bed and ached.

The local supermarket had a fresh sandwich counter, where for $5.49 I picked up a 12″x8″x6″ hoagie, which kept me going for a couple of days.

On the way to the Navajo Theme, sorry Tribal Park we stopped for a picnic in the town of Blanding, the residents of which were so happy to see us we all got little gift bags with sweets, gum and vouchers for all sorts of shops in the town. Worth dropping in for.

Later we arrived in Monument Valley Park, which acted as set for most of the western movies. We were driven about for a couple of hours by our Navajo guide before being treated to a chilli and BBQ and some group dancing and singing, including some low quality audience participation.
